The holidays
Here are a few of the album's 44 pages. Click on each image to access more photos.
If you recognise any of the people you see here or can tell me more about any of the images, please get in touch.
A real holidayThe first part of the album is devoted to what is described as "A real holiday". The photos show them cruising the Mediterranean on board the SS Moldavia, calling at Lisbon, Madeira and various places in Morocco. | Rucksack tourIn 1936 we find our friends on a walking holiday in Germany, in the Alps and Black Forest. They stay in youth hostels and visit Freiburg. Some of the photos clearly show swastikas displayed on German buildings and in the streets - a sign of the times | Here and thereA few pages show us a variety of trips from 1938, including Whitley Bay in north east England and what appears to be a short cruise to Malta |

Youth House International Devon CampThe final pages of the album document an "International Camp" in Devon with participants from France, Belgium and Germany, among others. I have not been able to trace any record of such a camp and would welcome information. |
