Rummaging among the antique stalls at Greenwich Market I came across a rather unusual find - a photograph album with a post-it note on the front: "Handle with care".

Picking it up and opening it (carefully) I found a collection of holiday snaps from the 1930s.Studying the photos tells a story of what must have been a fairly affluent couple, able to travel more than was usual for those times. In the course of a few years they take a cruise to Morocco, go on a walking holiday in the Black Forest and join an International Camp in Devon. There is also a trip to Whitley Bay and what appears to be a shorter cruise to Malta, though the captioning is unclear.

This website was created in order to share their travels more widely, as those of us who travel today can do so easily. Each gallery covers one holiday, and all the photos from the album are included, with their captions and any other information I have been able to glean.

I am also interested to hear from anyone who can shed more light on the photos and the story they tell.

Do you recognise any of the travellers?

Do you know any of the places they visited - perhaps you have modern-day photos to share?

And do you have any information about the international camp shown in the later pages of the album?

If so, please get in touch via the contact page or the Facebook page (link above)
